How to make chicken not taste like a balloon.

How do I know what a balloon tastes like, you ask?

I don't want to get into it.

What I do want to get into is how to make chicken NOT taste this way. Because believe it or not (and you better believe it), healthy food doesn't have to suck! YAY!

Ok now here are two, super-simple methods for cooking chicken. When in doubt, choose one and you'll be well on your way to some deliciousness!

Method #1: Broil!

This one is so simple. You put the chicken on parchment paper, pop it into your oven, and broil it on high until it's done cooking. That's IT! Broiling (instead of baking) leaves the chicken full of flavor and doesn't dry it out.

I could give you a time limit of 12-18 minutes, but ovens and chicken breasts vary. Do it once and you'll know exactly how long you need to do it every time after! What you're looking for is golden on top and not pink (at all) in the middle.

If you're feeling really crazy, throw on any seasoning (I use salt and pepper) and put veggies in there too to broil with the chicken. MAGIC!

Method #2: Crockpot!

This method is also super simple! Place the chicken in the crockpot, season it (I love a good BBQ seasoning), and add water until it covers the chicken about halfway. Cook on high for 4-6 hours or on low for 6-8.

Once it's done, drain the water and (here's the best part) shred it. It shreds perfectly!

If you're feeling crazy, add some salsa or BBQ sauce with the chicken when you shred it. BOOM - extra flavor!

There you have it! Two, super-simple ways to cook non-balloon-tasting chicken.

These two methods are my favorite because it requires no chopping, no extra dishes, no extra WORK! It's simple and delicious, which is my favorite combo.
